Why buy second-hand?

We live in a world with immense pressure to consume. The average person is subjected to anywhere from 4,000-10,000 advertisements every single day!*

With corporations focusing on higher profits every year, the quality of goods has gone down while the quantity has skyrocketed. Quality has been sacrificed in an effort to maximize corporate profit. Human beings are exploited in a race to the bottom. We are left constantly replacing and re-purchasing items that should last a lifetime. This is not a sustainable practice for us or our planet.

According to the EPA**, over 10 million tons of furniture/furnishings are being landfilled annually in the U.S., with Canada estimated the same. Overconsumption is a real problem our planet and society is facing. 

When you buy second hand, you are directly contributing to your local economy and reducing waste! Sounds like a win-win.
